# MCP quickstart

> Connect an agent to Rainbrand and generate your first brand-aware image.

Connect Rainbrand through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), choose or create a brand, and ask your agent to generate an image using its guidance.

## Install the Rainbrand Skill (optional)

If your agent supports Skills, we recommend installing the Rainbrand Skill now as part of setup. It gives your agent persistent guidance on using Rainbrand. It contains no brand data and does not connect or authenticate your account.

Download [`rainbrand.skill.zip`](https://github.com/trybloomai/rainbrand-skills/releases/latest/download/rainbrand.skill.zip), then import or upload it through your agent's Skill settings.

In Claude chat, desktop, or Cowork, open **Customize → Skills → Create skill → Upload a skill**.

You can inspect the [public Skill source](https://github.com/trybloomai/rainbrand-skills) before installing it.

## Connect your agent

Copy the Rainbrand MCP server URL:

```text theme={"dark"}
https://mcp.rainbrand.com/mcp
```

Sign in with Rainbrand through your browser on first connection, or use an API key when connecting without a browser.

<Card title="Show setup steps for your agent →" icon="plug" href="/mcp/connect">
  Setup for Claude, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients.
</Card>

## Confirm the connection

Ask your agent:

```text theme={"dark"}
Confirm which Rainbrand account is connected, then list my Rainbrand brands.
```

An empty brand list still confirms the connection. Rainbrand uses your personal workspace by default; ask your agent to list workspaces if you want to use another.

## Choose or create a brand

Use a ready brand from the list. To create one, give your agent sources that define it, such as a website, brand guide, written requirements, logos, images, and more:

```text theme={"dark"}
Create a brand in Rainbrand from the sources I've provided. Use the brand
guide as the authoritative source and wait until the brand is ready.
```

For local files, follow [Upload local files](/guides/upload-files). See [Create a brand](/guides/create-brand) for help choosing sources or recovering from a failed attempt.

## Generate your first image

<Note>
  This feature is in beta. During beta, endpoint schemas and behavior may change
  or be removed.
</Note>

Name the brand and describe what you want:

```text theme={"dark"}
Using my Pagecraft brand, generate a 16:9 launch hero for our new AI website
builder. Show a browser window with a colorful portfolio site on a pale
background. Use the headline “Your next site starts here.”
```

Your agent chooses a model, reads its input schema, and includes relevant brand guidance in the request. It retrieves the completed image by ID. To make an output part of the brand, [add it to the Brand Library](/guides/manage-brand-library). See [Model discovery and generation](/mcp/tools#model-discovery-and-generation).

See [Credits and limits](/api/usage-limits) for usage costs.

## Continue with Rainbrand

* [Use a Brand Skill](/guides/use-brand-skill) to bring its guidance and assets into another agent or application.
* [Edit your brand](/guides/edit-brand) as its guidance changes.
* Explore [use cases](/use-cases) for websites, presentations, video, campaigns, and illustrations.
